The Spanish driver, two-time world champion, Fernando Alonso, confessed that he had not lost hope of returning to Formula 1 at 38 years old.

 During a virtual conference hosted by the school of Real Madrid Universidad Europea Alonso said: “From a physical point of view and in terms of motivation I am at the top, so I should be able to focus on an important championship, whether it is the return in F1, the World Endurance Championship or the Indycar ".

Since leaving F1 at the end of the 2018 season, Alonso has been crowned 2018-19 world champion in endurance races, has failed to qualify for a second participation in the prestigious Indianapolis 500 miles in 2019 and has shared the Dakar Rally 2020 finishing in 13th place.

The dream of pressing the accelerator of a Formula 1 car is still present in the Spanish driver's mind: "I think my next challenge will be at the highest levels, because I have the feeling of still being at 100% of my ability" 

and the Renault, with which he won his two titles World Championships in 2005 and 2006, it looks like the right team to crown it: the French team, in fact, is looking for a driver to fill the seat vacated by Ricciardo in 2021 who will join McLaren, replacing Carlos Sainz, recruited from Ferrari.

The driver market, with Vettel in the front row among the precious pieces, is in great turmoil, the return of flash Renault-Alonso will serve to warm the hearts of Formula 1 fans forced to the long pit stop of emotions caused by the epidemic of COVID-19.
